2025 Week 8 Term 3
A Heartfelt Thank You!
What a wonderful way to begin the week! It was truly special to welcome all the dads and father-like figures to our school for the Father's Day Celebration. Witnessing our community come together is always a highlight, and we sincerely thank everyone who joined us for a memorable morning.
Spotlight on the Creative Arts Showcase:
'Once Upon A Dance'
The excitement is building as a tremendous amount of work continues, in the background, for our upcoming Creative Arts Showcase, 'Once Upon A Dance'. The children have been working incredibly hard and are buzzing with anticipation to showcase their amazing skills for you during Week 10.
To ensure you do not miss out, please be aware that tickets went on sale today via CompassTix!
Stay Connected: Fortnightly Newsletter
With so much happening, from ticket sales to event dates, the school Newsletter remains our primary source of truth, for all important information. We kindly ask all families to make reading the Newsletter a fortnightly priority. We are aiming to have the number of families opening our Newsletter above 58% to ensure everyone is well-informed and does not miss out on vital updates.
Important: Road Safety Rules
To ensure the safety of our most precious community members—our students—we urge you to read the updated road safety rules included in today's Newsletter. Taking the time to look over these guidelines will not only help keep our children safe but will also prevent families from being fined by the Police or Council Rangers patrolling the area.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community safe and informed.
Confirmation
We warmly invite you to join us in celebrating our Confirmation students as they complete the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Friday 19 September 2025
5:30 pm
Our Lady of Lourdes Church
Wauchope
Come and share this special occasion with our students, families, and parishioners.
Our school community is invited to celebrate with our students as they receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, conferred by our Bishop, Gregory Homeming.
We ask that you keep the students, receiving their Confirmation, in your prayers.
Meet Fr Anselm
Before the Parent Community Forum begins next week, Fr Anselm would like to invite you for an informal meet and greet. Please join him in the Meeting Room on Thursday 18 September 2025 at 5:30 pm for a chat. We hope to see you there!
NAIDOC DAY
National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee
Next Friday 19 September 2025, our students will participate in NAIDOC activities to celebrate Indigenous culture. Students are able to wear out-of-uniform (appropriate) clothing featuring Indigenous colors or designs on that day. Clothing must be sun-safe (no singlets or thin straps) and all students must wear joggers and school hats. This is required for safety and comfort.
STRONG SPIRIT
'Strong Spirit' Port Macquarie recently partnered with our Kindergarten - Year 2 students, Year 4 helpers and Aunty Miranda, for a vibrant workshop on designing and painting emu eggs.
Throughout the session, students enthusiastically learned to say their names and some words in Gathang (Birpai) language, deepening their cultural connection. The workshop was an engaging, hands-on experience which celebrated creativity and Indigenous heritage, with students fully immersed and inspired. Strong Spirit’s commitment to fostering cultural understanding through art truly shone through.
We look forward to welcoming our Year 3 - Year 6 students next Wednesday to continue this meaningful journey of learning and respect.

The day will celebrate student behaviour which promotes being Respectful, Responsible and Resilient within our school community using the Positive Behaviour Support system. Students who receive four or more reflections will be ineligible to attend the park excursion. They will participate in restorative goal setting during this time.
Further information, permission and ineligible students will be communicated via COMPASS later in the Term.

Passive Play Toys Wanted
We are looking to expand our collection of passive play toys to support calm, creative play during break times.
If you have any good quality toys at home that are no longer in use, please consider donating them to our school. We are particularly looking for:
-
LEGO sets, mobilo, magnetic tiles and building blocks
-
Wooden toys, puzzles and games
-
STEM toys which encourage curiosity and exploration
-
Other quiet, imaginative play items including beading and loom band kits
These resources will help us create a more enriching and inclusive play environment for all students.
Please drop off any donations at the school Office.
Thank you for your support in fostering creative and constructive play.
